These are structured internship and fellowship positions: unpaid, built around mentorship and hands-on experience, and recognised with a certificate or experience letter on completion. Openings are ongoing, not tied to a specific intake, so apply whenever you are ready and we will get in touch about the next available start.

How to Apply

Send your CV to careers@pivra.org with the subject line "Application: [Role Name]" (for example, "Application: Graphic Designer"). If a role below asks for a sample, include it in the same email. We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out directly to schedule an interview.

Commitment Periods

Every position runs on a fixed commitment period, agreed with you during your interview:

  • 1 month: certificate of completion
  • 3 months: certificate of completion
  • 6 months: experience letter

Recognition is provided only to those who complete their full commitment period. Anyone who leaves midway or becomes inactive does not receive a certificate or experience letter.

Research Associate

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Support PIVRA's research output. Specific writing assignments (policy brief, working paper, or short analysis) are given individually after you join.

  • Draft assigned sections of issue briefs and discussion papers under editorial guidance
  • Verify facts, statistics, and sources before submission
  • Attend the weekly research check-in

Skills and qualifications: Strong research and writing skills. A short writing or research sample is required with your application.

Data Analyst & Visualizer

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Turn research and survey data into charts, graphs, and infographics that support PIVRA publications.

  • Build data visualizations for briefs, papers, and social content
  • Review datasets for accuracy before publication
  • Work with Research Associates to translate findings into visuals

Skills and qualifications: Comfort with a spreadsheet or data tool (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar) and basic charting or visualization skills. A sample chart or dashboard is a plus.

Advocacy

Advocacy Officer (Digital Campaigner)

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Plan and run PIVRA's public awareness campaigns.

  • Build campaign messaging and posting plans
  • Run campaigns fully, across PIVRA's official channels as well as your own personal accounts and profiles, to widen reach
  • Coordinate campaign timing with the Media & Communications team
  • Track engagement and reach across campaigns

Skills and qualifications: Understanding of Pakistan's social and political landscape. Prior campaign or organizing experience is a plus.

Advocacy

Advocacy Officer (Advocacy Content Writer)

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Create PIVRA's advocacy content.

  • Keep an eye on issues that matter nationally and globally
  • Write regular advocacy and awareness content on those issues
  • Adapt research findings into clear, public-facing language

Skills and qualifications: Strong writing skills and comfort translating policy topics for a general audience. A writing sample is required with your application.

Advocacy Content Creator (On-Screen)

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Appear on camera specifically for advocacy campaigns and reels.

  • Present or narrate advocacy video content
  • Work with the Video Editor on scripts and delivery

Skills and qualifications: Confident on camera with clear spoken delivery. A short clip is required with your application.

Graphic Designer

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Design PIVRA's visual content across platforms.

  • Design posters, carousels, infographics, and social templates

Skills and qualifications: Graphic design skills with any standard tool. 2 to 3 samples of past work required with your application.

Video Editor

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Edit PIVRA's video content.

  • Edit reels, session highlights, captions, and text overlays
  • Deliver 2 to 3 videos per week

Skills and qualifications: Video editing skills with any standard tool. Sample edits required with your application.

Social Media Manager

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Run PIVRA's social channels day to day.

  • Schedule and publish posts across channels
  • Respond to comments and messages
  • Track basic engagement metrics

Skills and qualifications: Familiarity managing Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn professionally. Organized and consistent.

Media & Communications

Content Writer

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Write PIVRA's institutional content.

  • Write posts, newsletters, website copy, and press releases
  • Write session recaps and general updates

Skills and qualifications: Strong written English. A writing sample is required with your application.

Content Strategist

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Own PIVRA's content calendar and direction across platforms.

  • Plan what gets published and when across Media and Advocacy
  • Keep messaging consistent across channels
  • Coordinate with the Designer, Video Editor, and Writers so nothing clashes or gets missed

Skills and qualifications: Prior content planning or social strategy experience preferred.

Session Moderator

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Host and moderate PIVRA's Expert Series sessions and other live events.

  • Introduce speakers, manage Q&A, and keep time
  • Prepare briefly ahead of each session on the topic and speaker

Skills and qualifications: Confident public speaking and strong spoken English.

Media & Communications

On-Screen Presenter

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Appear on camera for PIVRA's general video content, not tied to live sessions.

  • Record short video summaries and host recorded segments
  • Conduct interviews for PIVRA video content

Skills and qualifications: Confident on camera. A short clip is required with your application.

HR Manager

Time commitment: 4–6 hours/week

Own PIVRA's people operations.

  • Maintain the team roster
  • Track attendance and the weekly performance system
  • Flag issues early

Skills and qualifications: Organized and comfortable handling sensitive information. HR, management, or coordination background is a plus.

Keep everyone informed and on schedule.

  • Send weekly task lists
  • Send reminders and announce meetings and deadlines

Skills and qualifications: Reliable and a clear written communicator.
