Pakistan Institute for Vision Research and Action
Evidence on Pakistan, for decisions that matter.
PIVRA is an independent, non-partisan research and policy institute based in Lahore. We take ideas the whole way: from research, to policy, to programmes that put solutions into practice.
To help solve Pakistan's development challenges by connecting research, policy, and implementation: producing independent evidence, turning it into practical policy, and delivering the programmes and partnerships that put solutions into practice.
A Pakistan where major development decisions are driven by evidence and carried through to real, measurable results, with PIVRA among the institutions leading that work.
Pakistan does not lack ideas or researchers. What is missing is the connective tissue: research that never reaches a decision, and programmes run without the evidence to make them work. PIVRA is built to hold that line together, from the first question through to what happens on the ground, not to stop at the report.
Independent research, data, and analysis on Pakistan's development challenges, through the Data & Policy Center and commissioned work.
Practical, costed policy options and advice, grounded in research and comparative experience, briefed to the people who decide.
Designing and running projects, programmes, training, and partnerships that put solutions into practice. This is where evidence meets delivery.
Better decisions, stronger institutions, and measurable improvement in people's lives, tracked and learned from.
PIVRA's research and public engagement are already producing a public record, all of it free to read and use. Our policy advisory and implementation work is building on that base now.
PIVRA's first implementation projects and delivery partnerships are in development. We are looking for funders and partners to build them with.
PIVRA is not affiliated with any political party, government body, or commercial interest, and it does not accept work that is conditional on reaching a predetermined finding.
PIVRA sets its own research agenda and retains full control over findings, analysis, and recommendations in everything it publishes.
Every report, brief, dataset, and session is published free of charge and remains publicly available.
PIVRA discloses the funders behind its research and programmes, and keeps analytical control separate from any funder's interest.
PIVRA works with foundations, development partners, government bodies, and peer institutions that want independent evidence behind Pakistan's development decisions, and partners to help carry them out. Grants and commissioned work let us research deeper, advise better, and move from evidence to delivery.
Fund a study, brief, or evidence review on a question within your priorities, delivered to PIVRA's independent standards.
Back a defined programme of work, from a data tracker or training cohort to an implementation project designed and run with PIVRA.
Provide programme or multi-year funding that lets PIVRA plan ahead, retain a team, and build lasting research and delivery capacity.
Tell us about your priorities and we will follow up with how PIVRA can help.
