The Research Internship Programme is PIVRA's flagship programme for students, graduates, and early-career researchers. Interns work directly alongside PIVRA staff on research and policy writing, with structured mentorship throughout the cohort.
Written during Cohort 1 under mentorship from PIVRA staff, this brief examines how temperature, lighting, noise, physical comfort, and rest breaks shape teachers' motivation, drawing on research from Pakistan and abroad. It sets out five recommendations for schools and policymakers.
Each cohort is organized around a specific area of work, consistent with PIVRA's mission of strengthening analytical and professional capacity among young people.
Interns work directly with PIVRA's researchers and staff, gaining hands-on experience of how policy research is produced.
Interns receive structured mentorship and feedback through a sequence of research and writing assignments over the course of the cohort.
Each cohort focuses on one area. Cohort 1 covered research and policy writing; future cohorts may cover other areas of PIVRA's work.
Interns who complete the programme receive a certificate, and strong work can be published by PIVRA as an intern contribution.
The first cohort ran from Monday, 20 July to Thursday, 20 August 2026, focused on research and policy writing. All three interns completed the programme and received their certificates.
Applications for the next cohort, which may cover a different area of work, will be announced on this page and on PIVRA's social channels. Write to us to be notified when they open.
