This page summarises the principal terms on which PIVRA accepts commissioned engagements. The binding terms are those in the written proposal and engagement contract, which prevail over this summary.
1. Contracting party
All engagements are contracted and invoiced by the Pakistan Institute for Vision Research and Action, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
2. Scope
Each engagement is defined by a written proposal setting out deliverables, timeline and fee. Work outside the agreed scope is undertaken only by written variation.
3. Nature of services
PIVRA provides research, due diligence on public and lawfully obtained information, process guidance, coordinated expert consultations, introductions through official channels, meeting support, local representation, writing, training and related services. It does not provide legal, tax, investment or financial advice, expert testimony or legal opinions, and does not act as a legal agent before any authority.
4. Dealings with public bodies
Contact with public bodies is limited to introductions and meetings through official channels requested by the client, with the client present. PIVRA does not offer or make any payment, gift or benefit to any public official, does not lobby for changes in law or policy on a client’s behalf, and does not promise any official decision or timeline.
5. Independence
Findings follow the evidence and are not altered at the request of any party. Commissioned work does not influence the institute’s published research.
6. Confidentiality
Client information and deliverables are confidential and used only for the engagement. Client identity is not disclosed without written consent. Specialists engaged are bound by written confidentiality obligations.
7. Conflicts of interest
Engagements and specialists are screened for conflicts before work begins. We decline or withdraw where a conflict cannot be managed.
8. Anti-corruption
Both parties comply with applicable anti-corruption laws, including, where applicable, the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act.
9. Fees and invoicing
Fees are as stated in the proposal, invoiced by the institute and payable by bank transfer. No cash is accepted.
10. Use of deliverables
Deliverables are for the client’s own use for the stated purpose. Disclosure to third parties requires prior written agreement.
11. Governing law
Unless otherwise agreed, engagements are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
