Two kinds of data
Live series are requested from the World Bank Open Data API by your browser each visit (cached for up to six hours) and are never altered by PIVRA. Curated figures are transcribed from the named official release, shown with their reference period, and refreshed when the publisher updates them.
Periods and revisions
Pakistan reports on a July–June fiscal year. The World Bank labels fiscal years by the calendar year in which they end. Official figures, especially for the latest year, are provisional and are routinely revised.
Comparisons
Peer comparisons use World Bank definitions so that countries are measured the same way. Definitions can differ from national statistics offices, so figures on this page may not match domestic releases exactly.
Direction of change
Arrows on the scorecards show the direction of the move; their colour shows whether it is an improvement for the people measured. Where a change has no clear normative direction the mark is grey.
Availability
If a live source cannot be reached, the affected panel says so. Curated figures and policy entries are part of this site and are unaffected.
